6 Modulo de transferencia de calor & ingles. terms
Investigate the words to be used in this transfer module unit.
Ambient temperature
Noun.
It is the temperature that can be measured with a thermometer and that is taken from the current environment, therefore, if it is taken from several points in an area at the same time, it can vary.
Example: The effects of fluctuations in AMBIENT TEMPERATURE are shown to be negligible in their affect on the force measurement, due to the only small temperature change which is expected.
es: Temperatura ambientes.
Geometry
Noun.
It is the part of mathematics that deals with the properties and measurement of space or plane, mainly metric problems (calculation of the area and diameter of figures or volume of solid bodies).
Example: For example, the volume of a sphere is 4/3 πr3, even if the sphere is made of glass, iron, or a drop of water.
es: Geometría.
Heat sink
Noun.
It is actually a heat exchanger, which extracts heat from one fluid and transfers it to another (ambient air, for example).
Example: They did not use heat sinks for years, but with the increase in speed there was also an increase in temperature and made the use of heat sinks essential.
es: Disipador de calor.
Magnitude
Noun.
It is a measurable quantity in a physical system that can be assigned different values as a result of a measurement or a relationship of measurements.
Example: A clear example can be mass, length, density, temperature, speed, acceleration and energy.
es: Magnitud.
Thermal analysis
Noun.
It is a branch of materials science where the properties of materials are studied as they change with temperature.
Example: Measures storage modulus (stiffness) and loss modulus (damping) as a function of temperature, time, and frequency.
es: Análisis térmico.
Total heat flux
Noun.
Is a flow of energy per unit area per unit time.
Example: In the case of water heating, the total heat flux occurs basically from fluid 1 (heat source) through a conductive solid (metal wall) to fluid 2 (water, the product to be heated).
